It was established by presidential decree (198/2000). It lies 14 Km north east of Luxor city , 10 Km far from Luxor International Airport .

Sanitation :

-A treatment plant with the  capacity of 9 thousand m3 / day has been implemented.

-The first phase of  sewage  plant with the  capacity of 5 thousand m3 / day is being implemented.

-Length of finished networks: 93.91 km.

Electricity :

-  A transformer station with the capacity of 50 M. F. A has been   finished.

- Length of finished networks:   848.719 km.

- Networks for tourist and industrial zones are being implemented.

Roads and communications :

-Length of finished road networks: 118.35 km.

-Length of finished communication networks: 157 km.

6 - Industrial zone

-An  industrial zone with the area of 382.71 acres  including 655 plots  have been planned.

- The industrial zone provides 25000 job  opportunities .
