It was established by
presidential decree (197/2000). It lies north of the Nile 8 Km
far from Qena city .
2- General plan
The total area of ββthe city is
24.2 thousand acres of which 7.618 acres are built up area
(Residential areas β services- industrial -tourism and
recreation ....) .
3- Housing sector
- 1548 housing units have been
implemented by Central Development Authority and 141 are
being implemented by private sector.

-A security building , (2)
Health Unit , an administrative building ,2 markets , and
2 health centers have been implemented . 39 buildings , a
school in the 1st district , playground in the 2nd district and
a health unit , a nursery in the national housing project of 81
buildings.. Police Department, ambulance .. a nursery for
serving (30) buildings .. (3) main gates..

Drinking water:
- A drinking water network
( 25.8 km ) has been implemented.
- Urgent
Nutrition business drinking water in the city by 7 km
Irrigation water :
- An irrigation
water network ( 9.1 km ) has been implemented.
- Finished irrigation water
network by 14.6 km in the valley
Sanitation :
-Length of finished
networks: 25.8 km. ( Urgent phase )
- Main uplifting station by power
of 750 , and a subsidiary uplifting station by power of 300..
- Finished sanitation networks in
the club area by 6.55 km
Electricity:

-Urgent feeding for the city has
been finished from Qena station .
