1-Location

 It was established by presidential decree (96/1999) on an area of 3900 acres  which was raised to 18490.92 acres by cabinet decree (807/2015)  . It is located on the west bank of the River Nile. It is 12 Km far away from Aswan city.

 2- General plan

-The total area of the city  is 22390.9 thousand acres of which 3.3 thousand acres are urban community   .

3- Housing sector

-The number of  housing units implemented  by New Urban Communities Authority is 280 developed housing units.

- The number of  housing units implemented  Ebny baitak project  are 2886 housing units.Total number of plots in the city  is 3530

• Completion of the implementation of 2,600 units and finishing the number of 1420 units and the implementation of the number of 1860 units of social housing

• The total number of plots of housing in the city is 1735 (socio-economic - medium - villas

- Special - home house) - and the number of 1447 pieces National project( ebny baitak ).

Population:

Target is  850 thousand inhabitants by 2023..

4-Services sector

-The number of  service  buildings implemented  (not operated yet )  by New Urban Communities Authority is 26

 ( 4 nurseries – post office - mosque - preparatory school- 2 health units - 4 shopping malls )

- (fire and police building –urban health center- store building- emergency building  ) are being implemented.

5- Utilities and infrastructure sector

Drinking water:

-6  drinking water wells have been implemented to feed the emergency phase to supply the city with the capacity of 5 thousand m3 / day.

-A mobile water plant  with the capacity of 100 m3 / hour has been implemented  .

- the first phase of the drinking water treatment plant with the capacity of 25 thousand m 3 / day has been  implemented.

- Length of finished networks: 137  km.

Sanitation:

- The first stage of the oxidation ponds with the capacity of 18 thousand m3 / day  has been implemented to treat sanitary water .

-  A main lifting plant with the capacity of 20 thousand m3 / day   , a sub- lifting plant (1) with the capacity of 15 thousand m3 / day and a sub- lifting plant (2) with the capacity of 20 thousand m3 / day  have been implemented .

- Length of finished networks: 66.6  km.

Electricity:

- A   transformer station with the capacity of 100 M. F. A   is being implemented.

- Length of finished networks: 690.8  km.

Roads and communications:

-Length of finished road networks: 73.76 km.

-Length of finished communication networks: 127.55  km.
